Mespilus germanica

Mespilus germanica

The Medlar is small tree with edible fruits, which is native to Southeastern Europe, mostly around the shores of the Black Sea. In Bulgaria it is a preglacial relict, commonly seen in Strandzha Mt, but there are also some isolated localities on the Southern Black Sea coast and the Eastern Stara Planina Mt. The flowering is in May.
